About the Play:

Three strangers await the westbound Southwest Chief in a small western Kansas train depot. Two women and a young man tell each other their stories. And what tales they have to tell!

About the Playwright:

Nikala Merrigan worked in the theater for many years, and won two Drama-Logue Awards in acting and directing. She toured with the Los Angeles Center Theater Group’s Education Program. Her writing includes “Tom Stoppard Tonight” for a U.S. touring production by Britain’s Royal Shakespeare Company. She graduated from Northwestern University.

About the Director:

Tina Polzin has been a director and teaching artists for almost twenty years,starting her own summer theater workshop for teens when in college. After UC Irvine, she directed and designed lights in Paris at the Divan du Monde and the MC93 International Theater. In New York, she worked with LAByrinth Theater Company and Manhattan Theater Source. She produced Fusion Film Festival at NYU and The Estrogenius Theater Festival at MTS, both of which encourage strong working relationships between men and women in the arts. Recently, she directed the farce Run For Your Wife at the Morgan Wixson and Tip of the Cap, the one man show based on Ted Williams, both of which received outstanding reviews and sold out. She is also a writer working with theaters like Palo Alto Children’s Theater where she led the summer workshop youth in their creation of the full length play World of Two, which dealt with corporate responsibility, love and war. She is a is a member of Moving Arts Theater Company and has done improv with The Upright Citizen’s Brigade and worked with the Ojai Playwright’s Conference. She has performed her sketch comedy in NYC, Colorado and LA.
